Valhalla Ubermod is a multi-tap delay which is possibly the creamiest crock of chorus invading people’s eardrums today.
It features emulations of classic Roland equipment, such as the Dimension-D (Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Police, Kate Bush) and VP330 (Underworld, Pink Floyd, Meat Beat Manifesto).
This plug-in is ideal for someone looking to give their vocals some subtle widening or their synth a snug extra layer.
It features 9 modes, a 2TapChorus, 4TapEnsemble, SuperSix, SixTapRandom, DualEnsemble, 8Tap, 16Phase, 16 Tap, and a 32Tap.
Controls such as rate, depth, and vibrato are all available to tweak. This plug-in is much more than just a chorus effect, it’s capable of masterful modulations of all shapes and sizes.

W.A. Production’s Orchid is perfect for all you soft-synth soldiers out there on the front lines. Although it’s based on the over-the-top chorusing effects of the 80’s, it’s not just a retro toy, Orchid will have your tunes sounding as fresh as a daisy.
It offers you 4 adjustable duplications of your audio. Its GUI is simplified, with thoughtful pre-sets to get you started.
A stand-out feature is its shimmer dial which gives your sounds some high frequency sparkle.
W.A have made this plug-in available as a 32/64-bit VST for Mac and Windows. A bite from this orchid’s apple will cost you $40.

MicroShift
SoundToys MicroShift is a pitch shifting plug-in which has built up a reputation for offering up some of the most crowd-pleasing choruses possible to all you DAW demigods.
Its design was based on the Eventide H3000 (Steve Vai, Tool, Smashing Pumpkins) and AMS DMX 15-80s (Joy Division, Peter Gabriel, Van Halen). It sounds excellent on guitars and vocals, so singer-songwriters might want to add this toy to their collection.
Its GUI is neat and easy to use, coming with 3 styles, good-to-go pre-sets, and dials for delay, detune, mix, and focus. The focus dial is particularly impressive, it acts as a low-cut filter to prevent the muddying up of your duplications. Another feature is its built-in Little MicroShift, which is their original minimalistic one-dial pitch shifter.
Soundtoys have made their 64-bit VST plug-in available for both Windows and Mac. The price tag on adding a pinch of shift to your pitch is $129.

AD040 Quatromod
Audio Damage also have a courageous chorus on offer, the AD040 Quatromod. Another multi-modulator, its chorus section is an evolution of their much-lauded Fluid plug-in.
These monstrous modulations would be best suited for those who spend their days crafting original oscillations and exciting envelopes on their synthesizers. Whether you are a commercial EDM party starter or an artsy ambience composer, you won’t be disappointed.
The first thing you’ll notice with Quatromod is its slick interface, which gives you access to all the usual suspects, such as depth, rate, and time.
It also offers you a Dimension-D pre-set, which is an emulation of the old classic with a modern twist. This plug-in is capable of much more than just chorusing and features flanger, diffuser, and frequency shifting modes.
Quatromod is available as a 64/32-bit VST/VST3 for Windows and Mac. The damage on Audio Damage’s delve into delicious duplications is $50.

Brainworx bx_bluechorus2
Created by German plug-in gurus Brainwork, another effect all guitarists will want to get their callused fingertips on, the bx_bluechorus2.
It’s based on the classic Boss CE-2 pedal (David Gilmour, Mac Demarco, Johnny Marr), and it’s not just axe-wielders who will be in heaven, the bx_bluechorus2 sounds angelic when paired with keyboards as well.
Its GUI has also stayed true to its analog overlord, with just 2 pots, a rate, and a depth knob. It also gives you the ability to place it in stereo or mono, which will come in handy when trying to find a place for it in different mixes.
The main thing that this plug-in does well is it sounds unbelievably identical to the CE-2. Even the greatest golden ears and analog adherents would struggle to fault this emulation.
The bluechorus2 is available as a 64-bit VST2/VST3 for Windows and Mac. It’s something borrowed, something blue, and $50 it will cost you.

SYNTORUS 2
Next on the list, we have D-16 Group with SYNTORUS 2. This plug-in is based on the effect modules of analog synthesizers such as the Solina String Ensemble (Air, Tangerine Dream, New Order), the Elka Synthex (Stevie Wonder, Duran Duran, Jean Michel Jarre), and the Roland Juno-106 (The Prodigy, Depeche Mode, Fatboy Slim).
This chorus is made for those who prefer soundwaves of the synthetic variety.
It offers you 3 delay lines with the ability to enable a BBD emulation switch, this will give your chorus that extra warmth that’s oh-so-common in those vintage synths you know and love. It comes with 3 LFO’S, with 6 waveforms to choose from for each.
Another of its stand-out features is that it comes jam-packed with over 100 pre-sets to get you up and running.
Syntorus 2 comes as 32/64-bit VST on Windows or as a 64-bit VST on Mac. A glimmer from the glorious Syntorus will cost you $70.

Blend
Maybe you’re not looking for a chorus that sounds like it was designed in the 70’s by a long-haired-but- balding man with a questionable moustache.
Throw your audio into this this blender and shake things up a bit. The soundwave surgeons over at Sinevibes have developed a chorus that’s powerful and modern sounding. This plug-in would suit those in EDM or sound design.
Blend offers up 16 duplicated voices and thanks to built-in phase offsets, it never gets overcrowded. Enormous enigmatic ensembles are easily crafted by this choir-in-a-can. It has the most pleasant looking GUI you will come across for a chorus plug-in. It’s capable of making unusual ambiences from the simplest of sounds.
The problem with this plug-in is that it’s only available as a 64-bit VST3 on Mac. So, it’s safe to say you either feel like a Microsoft minion or the main Mac daddy right now. On the bright side, Sinevibes has priced Blend at a bargain of $30.

Blue Cat’s Chorus
I haven’t forgot about all you budding-but-broke bedroom producers, here’s a slice of cost-free chorus for you!
Those fantastic Frenchmen over at Blue Cat Audio have a plug-in which captures the vintage vibes of classic hardware and are serving it up just for the love of it. This is another effect that suits guitars and basses, and is capable of everything, from “Come as You Are” to “There She Goes”.
It features 7 pots to play with, a gain, delay, depth, rate, dry, wet, and spread parameters are all available. The spread dial is a powerful tool, which allows you create a huge stereo image with just the simple twist of a dial. Another thing to take note of is the ability to choose between different wave shapes for your LFO.
Blue Cat’s Chorus is available as a 32/64-bit VST for Windows and Mac. And most importantly, this little kitty is all yours for absolutely nothing.

Multiply
Don’t let the name scare you, you don’t have to be an Einstein with a beautiful mind to get the hang of this plug-in.
Those Scandinavian scamps over at Acon Digital have crafted a unique chorus with a flashy interface that is available for completely free, this tone won’t cost you a Krone. This effect sounds good on both acoustic and software instruments.
Its uniqueness is achieved from the placement of a phase randomizing filter on its duplications.
Those wishy-washy comb filtered qualities heard in so many modulation plug-ins will not be of nuisance here.
Producers looking for gentle spreading of their semiquavers are in luck; Subtle widening is what Multiplly offers, not mangled warbly modulations. Another thing you will notice from one glance at their modern looking GUI is that it comes with a built-in parametric EQ, allowing you to sculpt and mould the modulations to your liking.
This plug-in is available as a 32/64-bit VST/VST3 plug-in for Windows and as a 64-bit VST/VST3 for Mac. Acon Digital have made Multiply complimentary, so you can multiply your sounds without dividing your wallet.

CRTIV Chorus
Next up, we have the folks at Voxengo and their CRTIV Chorus effect. This plug-in sounds particularly nice on guitars, electric piano, and vocals. Its capable of both delicate duplications and watery oceanic oscillations.
It features a simple GUI with 7 pots for you to dial in. Control is granted over frequency, depth, delay, feedback, wetness, dryness, and output gain. It also comes with well-crafted pre-sets, with coy chorus, serene stereo width, and far-out flange vibes, all ready to go.
This plug-in is available as a VST/VST3 on Windows and Mac. A course in chorus creativity costs $45.

TAL-Chorus-LX
This is another free plug-in, so we know it’s already grabbed your attention! There’s just one question of course, is this chorus glorious, or will it just bore us?
Lucky for you, it’s the former. TAL-Chorus-LX is emulating the classic Juno-60 chorus (Eurythmics, Faithless, Vulfpeck), and it’s doing a damn good job of it too.
Microshift Vst Torrent
TAL does two things well with this plug-in. The first is its simplistic interface with volume, dry/wet, width, and switchable style modes, all at your fingertips. The second is the actual sounds themselves.
It really does enable you to have a Juno-60 chorus sound on your tracks without having to reach for your wallet.
This 64-bit VST is available on Windows, Mac, and Linux. This plug-in puppy is free to a good home.

Microshift Vst Free Download
MondoMod
Next up we have an effect from plug-in kingpins Waves. Their MondoMod has creative chorusing capabilities due to unusual features being available to toy with. This chorus would be best suited for EDM producers, who are such a slave to the rave they barely find time to bathe.
It features 3 adjustable modulators, an amplitude modulator for tremolo, frequency modulator for vibrato, and a rotation modulator for panning. The panning modulation makes for an unusual and interesting effect. It also features 5 changeable waveforms for its LFO, so you can mix and mash your modulations to your liking.
MondoMod is downloadable as a 64-bit VST3 on Windows and Mac. As with all Waves plug-ins, its price will fluctuate during its never ending “sale-of-the-month.” It’s currently priced at a steal of $24.

Chorus JUN-6
Artful audio archers Arturia offer us another emulation of the chorus found on the Roland Juno-60, and it does an outstanding job. This chorus is suited for those looking to add some spice and sauce to their stale synthesizer stabs.
The first thing you will notice with JUN-6 is that it’s GUI looks a hell of a lot like the actual Juno-60, so kudos to ever designed it! It features rate, depth, and phase faders, along with a mix pot.
Three switchable modes and a stereo/mono toggle are also available to you. The sounds themselves are fantastic, definitely a worthwhile addition to your ever-growing and overflowing plug-in folder.
Arturia have made this plug-in available as a 64-bit VST for Windows and Mac. This effect was promoted as only being free up until Christmas, but due to some sort of (wonderful) glitch it still doesn’t cost anything, so grab it now!

Efektor CH3604 Chorus
Next up we have a little something for everyone, with Kvassa’s Efektor CH3604 Chorus. This marvellous modulator is suited for both those who slam their synths every day and those who think strings and a SM57 is the only way.
Microshift Vst
The CH3604 Chorus has a simple to use stomp box themed GUI. It allows you to toggle between its ensemble, dimension, and tribunal modes, which emulate the Juno-60 and Roland Jazz Chorus amp (The Police, The Cure, The Cult).
It contains the standard rate, depth, mix, and level parameter pots. Other noteworthy features are its A/B comparison and BPM synchronization options.
The CH3604 is available as a 32/64-bit VST/VST 3 on Windows and Mac. This watery weapon of mass modulation is up for grabs at $25.

TriceraChorus
Next, we have Eventide offering us their awesome ensemble, TriceraChorus. Although based on the classic BBD chorus effects from the 70’s and 80’s, the TriceraChorus can cultivate both Jurassic-age jams and millennial minded melodies. This plug-in would suit all you vintage synth geeks out there.
TriceraChorus is a 3-voice chorus with 1 stand-out feature, a classically designed Eventide micro-pitch shifter. Its parameters are also highly adjustably, with individual depth pots for left, right, and centre. Its swirl knob creates a psychedelic flanger effect, for those looking to create some hippy-dippy duplications.
Eventide’s TriceraChorus is available as a 32/64-bit VST2/VST3 on Windows, and as a 64-bit VST2/VST3 on Mac. A try of TriceraChorus will set you back $100.

Chorus DIMENSION-D
To round off our list, we have another emulation of the classic Dimension-D. This is another plug-in from Arturia, who again, don’t let us down. This effect sounds good on everything, whether it’s to invigorate your vocals, grease up the guitars, or soup-up your synths, this chorus is as versatile as its hardware cousin.
Its interface is sleek and minimalistic. Its features include 4 modes, a mono/stereo switch, a waveshape selector, and a dynamic colour dial. With so many effects out there offering an exaggerated or cold sounding clone of the Dimension-D, this plug-in truly captures the BBD analog character of the classic Roland chorus.
This virtual Dimension-D comes as a 64-bit VST2/VST3 on PC and Mac. A new dimension to explore doesn’t come for free, it will set you back $120.
